Lockdown Alarm and Invacuation Systems
Planning your lockdown response? Contact CS Security Solutions to discuss your premises, your procedures and an appropriate alert solution.
What is a lockdown alert system?
A lockdown or invacuation alert system is designed to notify people when a protective action is needed. An authorised person can activate a dedicated call point, triggering a distinct voice message through compatible sounders. Visual alarm devices can also support the alert where specified. This helps distinguish the instruction from a fire evacuation alarm and gives people a clear prompt to follow their training and local plan.
A system shaped around your premises
No two buildings have the same layout or response plan. A smaller, straightforward site may need a single-message solution, while a larger or more complex venue may need multiple messages or different responses across zones. We can discuss your intended procedures, the areas to be covered and how the alert will work alongside your other life-safety arrangements before a system is specified.
How we can help
Talk to CS Security Solutions about a lockdown alert approach that fits your premises. We can review the practical requirements with you, identify suitable equipment and plan how the system will be tested and maintained as part of your wider preparedness arrangements. A clear procedure, staff understanding and regular review remain central to an effective response.
Martyn’s Law and your preparations
The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, often called Martyn’s Law, sets out public protection procedures for certain qualifying premises and events. These include evacuation, invacuation, lockdown and communication. The official guidance asks responsible persons to consider what is appropriate and reasonably practicable for their circumstances; it does not prescribe a particular lockdown panel. The Act has an implementation period of at least 24 months from Royal Assent on 3 April 2025, and the legal duties apply when it comes into force.
